# Aishwarya Rai was born into a Tulu-speaking Bunt family in Mangalore, Karnataka. Her father Krishnaraj was a marine biologist, while her mother Brinda is a housewife. She has one elder brother Aditya Rai who is an engineer in the merchant navy.
